The Role:
This role is for a Senior Solution Architect to work within the WA Region practice of the National Consulting Architecture Services practice. The Senior Solution Architect will be responsible for defining architectural direction across the complete solution architectures defined at a project, business unit and enterprise level. The Senior Solution Architect will provide applied solutions architecture and technology guidance and oversight to project delivery teams as they plan, design and implement solutions.

Key Focus Areas for this role:

• Build consensus and alignment between enterprise-wide architecture direction and business specific initiatives and business requirements to ensure Enterprise and Project alignment.
• Contribute to the IT Roadmap and associated planning which places any solution architectures within a broader enterprise context.
• Lead Governance and advisory activities for projects as they relate to solution architecture including quality review and engagement with Enterprise Architecture functions
• Provide thought leadership in emerging technologies and solution architectures in both an IT and industry specific context.
• Ensure technology teams and business areas understand the architectural options and technology choices required to support of their business initiatives including providing specific guidance on options.

Required Skill Set:

• Demonstrated 2 - 3 years minimum experience working as a Solution Architect.
• Demonstrated experience in leading Solution Architecture and Applications Architecture activities including lead accountability for key deliverables.
• Demonstrated experience in developing solution architectures in large organisations with large complex heterogeneous IS environments.
• Demonstrated experience in large scale bespoke applications development in either a .NET or J2EE environment.
• Strong knowledge of leading Solution Delivery Life Cycle (SDLC) frameworks and processes with a good understanding of the architecturally significant touch-points between the system development life cycle and Enterprise Architecture frameworks as it applies to solution delivery, in particular, understanding of SLDC and software engineering interrelationships

Highly Desirable:

• Experience and understanding of the usage of Enterprise modelling tools (eg ARIS, Rational etc) to support Solution Architecture and in the context of model based software engineering.
• Strong understanding of Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) and emerging leading practices in this area, in particular Service Oriented Architecture(SOA), Software as a Service(SAAS), and Business Process Management (BPM).
• Broad application architecture domain experience including Commercial of the Shelf (COTS) and ERP.
• Experience and understanding of Enterprise Architecture concepts, framework and methodologies (eg TOGAF, Zachman, Gartner).
• Architecture formal training and certification (eg TOGAF, Zachman, Gartner).
  Mining industry or equivalent including exposure is highly desirable.
