Senior Forecaster
Melbourne

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Forecaster in the government sector. This position will be based in Boxhill with an attractive remuneration paying between 90k - 100k for the right candidate.

The role will be responsible for forward planning, resource management, and the delivery of team and broader business outcomes.

Employed as the Senior Forecaster you will managing a team of forecast and business analysts and has responsibility for producing accurate forecasts of client demand for the broad range of workloads managed within the business line and to assist the business to manage its resources and infrastructure in a cost effective manner.

The Senior Forecaster must establish and maintain methods to capture, track and analyse information regarding:

  • Produce timely and accurate forecasts of client demand, including high level analysis of client demand, communication events and product/obligation cycles which drive demand.
  • Provide managerial, technical and leadership support to the business groups
  • Lead and/or undertake complex research, analytical and project work, including the provision of professional leadership to staff
  • Provide written and oral advice to senior management on issues relating to workload demand including events, activities and other initiatives
  • Build and maintain effective internal and external networks and relationships
  • Contribute to the efficient and effective delivery of business outcomes
  • Participate in the training and development activities of the group including the provision of coaching and mentoring

To be successful in this role you will need to possess the following:

  • Demonstrated high level knowledge of forecasting methodologies and techniques as applied to predicting workload and staffing demand
  • Demonstrated high level software application skills, including Microsoft Office and web-based products such as Cognos, with particular focus on Microsoft Excel and the use of spreadsheet functions and calculations
  • The ability to gather intelligence, undertake research and interpret internal and external client requirements
  • The ability to identify problems and use initiative and sound judgment skills to recommend solutions
